On Thursday March 4th 2010 students, teachers and parents held a one day strike to “defend public education for our children and for all future generations.” This video features scenes from the picket in front of Sather Gate at UC Berkeley and the rally and march to Oakland’s City Hall. It also shows the high energy rally and protest in front of San Francisco’s City Hall.
Thousands of students walked out of classes, everywhere in the Bay Area.

On Wednesday February 17, 2010 a small plane crashed into a neighborhood in East Palo Alto, California. The plane hit a power line then broke apart and landed on a street and in nearby yards. No one on the ground were killed, but the three Tesla Motors employees in the …plane are deceased. Power has been out in many parts of Palo Alto since the incident. Planes have crashed near that neighborhhod before, but never in it and amongst the houses. There are reports that parts of the plane hit a daycare center, but no children were inside at the time.
I went to the Mavericks surfing contest and took a few pics. I arrived late and did not see the rogue wave drama, but I still managed to grab a few pics. Just click on the term that are highlighted to see the pics.
On Saturday January 23 2010 the religious community held their annual Walk for Life march against abortion. And once again they were countered by pro-choice folks. It is common knowledge the religious community buses in people from all over the West Coast to participate in that march, and the pro-choice crowd seems to be mostly people from the Bay Area.
I attended the event, shot the video footage, wrote the script and edit this video togther using Windows Movie Maker.
